What drawbacks does the ACA500+ have in the A1000?

It will have an Agnus piggyback adapter that allows you to expand the Chip RAM! like I said above, the ACA500(+) is designed to sit on the left-hand side of a 500, and takes up awkward space on a 1000's table. You also have to place the CF cards on the back instead of the front. With the first ACA500 model, a lot of people reported that the connector was extremely finnicky in an A1000. I'm not sure if that's still the case with the ACA500+, but I know that Jens has said that he does not provide support if the electrical side of things isn't 100% compatible with a 1000. |

Another brilliant contribution from you. Oh, hang on, it’s just the usual bile and bullshit.

If he can deal with the limited chipram in the 1000 than this really is a useful and welcome product.
Oh, I have a useless ACA500 plus now which I used on the 1000. After about three resets in will work. What it doesn't like is being attached the wrong way. I will leave it at that. |

I sure hope he keeps making/selling stuff. The ACA500plus is an amazing tool for development of OCS/ECS games.

I just read the specs about the ACA500plus and all I can say is holy fuck! It’s sounds like a great add on to the A500.

I think it’s a great bit of kit, it’s brought a new lease of life to my A500

Even a noob like me is able to use it flawlessly. So far, I've been using it more then a year. Adding new games and apps were never been easier. Funny thing for me, is how Amiga is able to start OS at same speed, as today's PS's with SSD. ![]() |

I never managed to get the CF card working. Don't know how to use it.

This is one of the very impressive positives about this product, by which I'm extremely impressed. I don't usually buy really expensive gadgets for my micros (it costed ~1.5x what my actuall A500 did) but this one was worth every penny. Before that my Amiga with Gotek gathered dust and I was thinking of selling it, now it's on all the time.

I’d do that... The beers, I mean. All my A1000’s but one have been sold so I kept the last one. ![]() I’ve ordered an ACA500PLUS+ for this original A1000 and I intent to mod a A1010 floppy case to install it in. Just waiting for the card to hit Australia soon... |
