Boot delay option
WinUAE boots so fast in some configs that it's hard to use boot options via the mouse.
For instance, accessing the standard Amiga boot menu and using boot selectors in startup-sequence files. How about an option to slow the first what seems to have become micro seconds of the boot sequence, just before the hard drive gets accessed. Last edited by Bloodwych; 20 January 2004 at 19:36. |

Man, you've just gotta love it when folks are complaining that WinUAE runs too fast, eh? What a difference a few years make!

Unfortunately this is impossible without special kickstart-specific detection code which I refuse to add.

Ok Toni, thanks for the response. If it's a lot of work for such a minor option then I can understand.
I better keep my reflexes in tip top shape then! Last edited by Bloodwych; 21 January 2004 at 18:25. |

The thing is it wouldn't need to be anything to do with any hack of the current emu code, just a pause before starting emulation!
For instance, a 2 second delay between hitting reset and starting the emulation. This pause would give you chance to hold down the right mouse button and bring up the Amiga boot menu, or ready for a startup-sequence program to recognise the right click. We only make suggestions however, Toni is the one who knows if it's worth his time. |

Sorry, I meant both buttons for boot menu and right for startup programs - on mine I have to be FAST. I mean lightening fast.
I never said it doesn't work, you just have to be quick so I thought I'd put forward a suggestion. WinUAE is getting so good we're clutching at straws as you can see from this forum. Mute point now anyway. Last edited by Bloodwych; 25 January 2004 at 22:10. |

He he, ok Bipster, I get the message.
Do you think Toni will ever find a suggestion he agrees with in this "wishlist" forum? I think he'll find it more of a pain than useful. Seems like that so far! Well, apart from the floppy drive sound! Can't wait to hear it. |
