Hm, what "pin strips" are those?
I used the socket because it's actually flatter than the pin strips I got

They were either very similar to these or this exact thing:

I removed them from the plastic header and put them straight through the board, Kipper's relocator's holes are large enough to fit. So just the top wider ring is exposed. You break off the pins from the side the Vampire goes into.

Is anyone using a Vampire in their CDTV daily? I heard it works but you lose the ability to use the CD-ROM drive. Is this still the case?

You can use any accelerator card in this manner, just pull JP115 and CDTV will act as a normal A500 then..

Also need to add, have installed TF536 and it works in pair with CDROM nicely but collides with SCSI Hard Disk drive

Does TF536 IDE work? SCSI hard drive is really slow, so if there is a alternative solution, it wouldn't bother me a much.
