A1000 Perspex Top Case

Has anyone ever contemplated replacing the top cover of an A1000 for a transparent one? Any advice in terms of thickness of material or if it even sounds possible? Hell, does anyone sell them? (I'm guessing not)

I accept that it's not going to have curved edges or anything like that, but it would be nice to have a see-through lid on the machine for the odd occasion when it is on display. I guess worst case scenario I could just make (or possibly even buy) a clear monitor stand to use instead of the lid.

Any pearls of wisdom?
