amegas too fast
hello amigans,
i tested amegas today and i find it too fast, i thought perhaps i'm older that's why ??? But finally i took a look of amegas from youtube and more exactly from "zeusdaz" channel. Like he explains he is making his videos from his own amiga, not with winuae. If you compare amegas (winuae) and amegas from "zeusdaz" (a real amiga) the winuae display is much faster. I tried every possibilities to slow down it, running it from disk, set the cpu to 1.0005 mhz, the memory to 512 ko, pal only... Nothind did the trick. [ Show youtube player ] My thought : Perhaps the game use intensively the blitter and the blitter is too fast in winuae or perhaps the memory is too fast or perhaps it came from the youtube display the video or i'm totally wrong and the speed is the same ??? if someone has an idea ?? |

Logs?
I tested the WHDLoad version from Retroplay just now with my single all-games A1200 config, and whilst it was a touch faster, it wasn't unplayable. I think in my case it might be faster as Amegas is one of the oldest A500 games out there (came out in 1987) and it was heavily fixed to work with A1200. |

Do You have "Cycle Exact" option on? That was problem for me in some games, which were too fast. After switching on this option all games now are in real speed. But not tested Amegas.

Make sure your monitor frequency is not 60Hz as depending on the syncing etc it can take the default refresh which is that of what the monitor is set to.
Mines a 60Hz one so scrolling is never superb on PAL stuff, its good but not silky I use a windowed mode so I can see what the freq is on the status bar.. You can force a 50hz mode in Winuae as you probably know |
