A500/500+ replacement PSU

All,

Following some other threads, and having had a dead A500 PSU knocking around for too long, I thought I'd get a new supply and pop it in the original power brick chassis. I went for this one - https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/709-MPT65B - and while it's not a perfect fit for the screw holes in the brick, with a little fiddle-faddle and soldering, it operates perfectly with the benefit of having a little more poke than the old Commodore units. For the price, I'd recommend them! Took only 3 days to arrive from the US.

Cheers,
Mike

don't you miss the -12V line on this psu? In the product description only +5VDC and +12VDC are mentioned.

Mean Well PSUs are available in a variety of configurations for each model. Part numbers ending in B like the one linked to all have 5V, 12V and -12V outputs. The description doesn't list the third output at all (even though it does mention it has three outputs), but if you look at the datasheet it will give you all three.

Output voltage channel 3 is -12V, it's mentioned a bit further down the spec listing.

Q: What did the person who had their house burnt down by a Mean Well PSU say?
A: At least it "meant well".
