Help with PCMCIA on 1200
Sorry if this question has been asked before but which PCMCIA cards available will work on a 1200.
I have a 68820 (?) processor upgrade and 8Mb of Fast mem The cards I am hoping to work are 3com Etherlink III network card an ATA 8MB Flash Card or maybe an IBM 1GB Microdrive.... I would like an easy non timeconsuming way of getting data from a pc to my miggy Thanks in advance |

I'm afraid that 3Com cards do NOT work in your A1200. You have to find an NE2000 compatible card. I use a card called "Repotec" myself, and I know that the "SureCom" cards work as well.
I do not know anything about the other two cards. |

I'd say they'd work as long as they are of the PCMCIA II standard, and drivers are available for the cards.
I am afraid those two last cards yuo mention have no drivers for the Amiga. Take a look on teh Aminet, if you find them, I was wrong |

If there are people using PCMCIA cards in an A1200, I would like to know what TCP/IP networking tools you are using.
I'm using Miami with AmFTP at the moment, but I keep getting "RAM Disk is full" when both of them are running. Does Miami really need that much memory? |

The strange thing is that it worked without problems at first. I transfered files to and from the A1200 and never got that error message.
Anyway, I guess I have to upgrade! |

Yep, Miami is a hog! With my serial cable TCP/IP connection, I remember I was left with ~200KB free on my 2MB Chip A600HD...
However Im not going to try AmiTCP IP.. i just cant get it to work, it's a mess :P I better upgrade |

hehe
AmiTCP works fine for me So does Miami So does Genesis (AmiTCP upgraded) This was back in my 2mb A600 days I used AmiTCP for a while, but I moved to Miami cause I liked it more (no idea why) Genesis is very good though. If a 2mb Amiga can run it, then use it. It's not as good as Miami, but still cool |
