New Transparent A1200 Case
I've been waiting to get one of the new A1200 cases for years.
Now I finally have one and have fitted it, along with some remote controlled LED lights. I'm very happy with the result. |

Thanks for posting the pics, looks great! I still have yet to receive my case, I've ordered the standard white.
In your opinion how is the texturing of the case above the cutout for HxC display? Does it change as some are reporting? Also with the floppy drive opening on the original case, the bottom arch has a small plastic lip running across it. With the new case it seems to be there on some photos but missing on others, what was the deal with that? Thanks again! |

I ordered both the transparent and white ones. The white one is a little too "white" for me. I wish I had ordered the black one instead. I can definitely see the outline for the HxC display on both of my cases for what it's worth. Yours looks great! Good job on the lights

Great looking setup! I have a couple of new cases as well, but waiting for the keys. I saw you have used the CF opening above the PCMCIA port. How did you cut out the opening? I'm looking for a dummy proof guide, would like to do the same.

The HxC screen panel feels and looks the same as the rest of the case, but the difference with the transparent case is that you can fully see it, which is actually less of a problem.
I cut the CF opening with a craft knife to score the edges, used a file to cut the sides of the opening out, then simply twisted the pre marked panel out, then tidied it up with a file. It was easy. My ACA1230 card has the CPU chip sitting low, even beyond the outer edge of the trapdoor cover so I trimmed an opening out using the same method as above. Next job is to fit side USB ports so i can route my external keyboard adapter out to the side. |

I just wish I could buy the keys and a coloured A500 case now. Guess I'll just wait for two years like this one.

My A1200 is connected to a small CRT TV via SCART. I think the picture looks excellent. I have a 20" Sony CRT, but I really like the quality of this small 14" Bush video recorder TV that I have, its so vibrant.
I've even promoted the Amiga from the loft man-cave (which is boiling hot in this weather) to downstairs, so I use it lots and my children have found some brilliant games on it. I started fitting a Raspberry Pi Zero in the case too today, as there's plenty of space. Ports are accessible out of the removable panel at the back. Going to search some video and audio output options so that I can use the same CRT TV. Also, internal powering options. Keyboard and mouse is just an external USB set, wireless SNES style controller. This is for NES/MD games. Then I can have my Amiga and old school consoles on CRT connected permanently. |

I like to leave the lights on a very slowly, fading colour change pattern. Every now and then I look at it and its changed colour. |

Although I'm getting a white case this has gotten me thinking about putting in LEDs to show out of the vents.
Also need to find the right size USB header to fit the cutouts, no luck so far. |
