That's a SCSI controller. I think cpiac64 is talking about drivers for a high-density floppy drive.

I have an AEHD High Density Amiga floppy from Applied Engineering. Probably not the same, but wondered if maybe one is rebranded? If it is the same as the AEHD one, I have the driver, but be aware it's 1.3 only (Possibly 2.0 based on a review I read, but I wasn't able to get it to work with 2.0 when I tried.). I used it for a while with my A1000, until I got kickwork going; it wouldn't work with kickwork. desiv |

If you're able to take a pic of the board and upload the driver you have, I'd be interested to see how the code works.

Well the only I can think of is something called: highdensity.device is about 5424 bytes it tells me the file version is 1.0 12.11.93 Quick comment (Nearly) 2MB per Disk written and (c) 1993 by Klaus Deppisch
Is that what you need? |

Thanks for that!
Can you read or write DD disks when the switch is in position 2? If anyone cares about supporting this drive in emulators, I looked at the hd_disk.device code. It's hard to figure out exactly what's going on, but my guess is it uses GCR-like encoding for the 82-cylinder HD format, and probably the normal Amiga trackdisk format for DD disks. The drive needs to report a special ID: $66666666 for DD, $78787878 for HD. Maybe $00000000 if no disk is inserted??? Or maybe it always reports $00000000 when the switch is in position 1, to be compatible with DD disks without needing a mount file. |
