Blitz2 - fresh install.. trouble.
Hi,
recently I installed Blitz2 on my Amiga but later it turned out that there was something wrong with it - so I decided to start over. Downloaded: - blitz2 (have not used that one) - ultimate blitz2 - ultimate bb updated installer from aminet - newCommandSet (for latest (?) amigaLibs.res) I did following assigns: BSS1: BSS2: BSS3: to the folders inside ultimateBB and I started an updated installer from aminet. I didn't change any settings - installed everything as Installer proposed. At the end I replaced old amigaLibs with new one, restarted Amiga and tried to run a short program. Unfortunately I got the same error as before complaining about PortSigBit being an array (more or less). @Daedalus after all these steps my deflibs is 281096 bytes long. |

Hmmm, that looks about the right size. I don't know what might be happening there, I have a fresh install of the UBB and it works fine. There are some other updates that can be installed in the archives section of http://blitz-2000.co.uk/ but I think it should be working as you have it. I don't know what might be wrong... Maybe you need to rebuild your deflibs file because something is wrong with the index. There's a tool for that somewhere, but it's been so long since I used it I can't remember the details.

The tool to rebuild your deflibs can be found in the Blitzlibs folder. It is called makedeflibs, you should find both the source: "makedeflibs.bb2" and an executable: "makedeflibs.exe". It should be possible to just run/compile that tool.

Now it is working.
The problem was caused by "tokenizing". All I had to do was insert a "space bar" character after PortSigBit, move the cursor to other line, come back and remove the "space bar" character. But because I'm just starting with Blitz I was not aware of that. Thank you all for help. Problem solved. |
