winuae output - virtualdub does not remove frames
recorded alien2 demo from scoopex (using tscc codec). demo started by alien2.bat (runs part 1, 2, 3, outro one by one).
between these parts (previous part ends, next part starts) there are some frames showing workbench, want to get rid of. if i delete frames using virtualdub and save avi, frames are still there, new avi is same length as old avi, nothing deleted. so how do i get rid of these workbench frames? |

Maybe this page has the solution?
"You need to use smart render instead of direct stream copy. Virtualdub (and most other editors) can only cut on key frames. With smart render, it re-encodes at the cut and direct stream copies the rest. In Videos > Compression, you need to select the original codec so it can re-encode the cut with the same compression." |

smart render, compression set to tscc codec, save as avi. this time unwanted workbench frames really were deleted! |
