[ Show youtube player ] edit: reuploaded

2,734,680

At 1:03:33 the H.264-codec showed its log window which stole the focus from WinUAE causing me to lose a life a few seconds later due to not being able to control Pacman.
Then I restarted video capturing which made the log window pop up yet again. When I regained control I ran into the purple ghost and lost another life. Fortunately was able to loop the game a second time and produce this score.
Also added scanlines which Youtube has processed away and now everything is dark. edit: fixed with the reupload
Also the video starts with a pic where I have a score of 1,830,330. No idea how this landed there. Maybe there was a buffer overrun or something? edit: VirtualDub adds the pic that I use to edit the video settings at the start when I save - thus the reupload has now two pics at the start.

Awesome score John. I posted a near 2m score at LA but the site has been down since then.

I'm pretty confident I can put together 2m+ score, it's just a matter of time now. Wonder how high this will go...?

Thanks Lines! My compulsive/obsessive need to eat as many ghosts as possible doesn't make it likely to get many loops. Only looped the game twice in this 2.7M-run. I think maddi probably looped the game thrice when she got 2.4M.
And since this isn't liviux' type of game I think maddi and you are the most likely to get 3 or 4M with a multiple loops-run.

Satisfied to finally have beat rexsu's score from the 2011 Knockout-final (with a slight 6 year-delay): http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=57258&page=2
Which you've done now, too.

Welcome to the competition nobody, great score progress.

Looks like Lemon is taking a break for Easter.

John, wow, youtube doesnt like scanlines much. Thats ok. If viewers want scanlines, they can always view it with a CRT, the old fashioned way. I bought a multi-sync monitor for my original Amiga quite quickly, after I discovered the fuzz TV images produced by the A520 modulator, werent exactly something worth showing to all my friends. I cant even remember any scanlines, as somehow history has made them fade from my mind.

Yes, I was going to remind all Lemon players that they could post here in the meantime but there's no need for that now.

I'd also like to welcome Nobody to the competition (a slightly odd phrase...), hopefully you will enjoy taking part and be back for more as the season progresses.

Also welcome back to BlackOceans, who has returned after a two-year absence - hopefully both of you will be here to strengthen EAB ranks on a regular basis

There's still more than half of this round still remaining so plenty of time for more entries and improvements, but please don't forget the vote for Round 6 and the nominations thread for Round 7 (for which both the aforementioned players are now eligible) while you're here

Indeed. They trigger YT's deinterlacer. Meaning you have a 50/50-chance of your video being dark.
"Deinterlaced" it myself now with VirtualDub and reuploaded the vid (see post above).

True. Never had a modulator - always had my A500 hooked up to a(n RGB-capable) TV via RGB-cable.
Playing with scanlines (75% transparent) in WinUAE now feels pretty authentic. I remember the real image looking very similar to this.

Rexsu! Haha, thanks mate!
Really great to read from you after such a long time. Would be even better if you could join in here again. Or, if you're too busy, at some point in the future.

This has gone a little quiet on the EAB side, so a little reminder that we've got just over 48 hours left of this round, and there's currently a huge gap between third and fourth place - however, closing this gap to any degree may well result in several extra league points, so there should still be a decent incentive there.

And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, we've got slightly over 24 hours left of the Mystery Round Nominations phase. It's looking much healthier on that front now so thanks to all those who have submitted theirs - if there's anyone there who still hasn't please do while you still have the chance; the more games on our list the merrier.

I'd like to be involved more, but will probably be a very irregular participant. Struggling to find some time for gaming and this is a very high level competition.

Anyway, a slight improvement:

789,450

I'll try to have few more attempts later today. It would be nice to finally loop it.

And that's enough pill popping for now. Time to survey the carnage.

Congratulations to maddi for picking up her first ever gold medal with a quite incredible score. That was some effort and a well deserved full 20 points.

LinesMachine looked like he was going to win for a while with a cracking effort of his own, and can probably consider himself unfortunate to only come away in second place.

John4p also looked good at one stage but somehow he ended up with only bronze. Nobody else was even remotely close to the top three, unfortunately.

In the standings, john4p has increased his lead to 15 points after his previous challenger liviux76 finished a long way behind. LinesMachine moves up to second place as a result on 79 points and closing his own personal gap to John by one point. Liviux76 slips back to third on 77. Everybody else is a long way back but maddi's win sees her jump a massive 15 places up to 11th.

The top two mega scores were both from Lemon players, which has gone a long way to winning the round for the red team. EAB are still leading overall, but the lead has been cut to 4-2, and with a double round now coming up, things have the potential to change further.
