Agony on MSX!

Turbo R hardware, which is far from your standard MSX, but still pretty interesting:

Looks nice; the animation is a bit choppy but it looks like a faithful port.

Looks amazing, with 1:1 conversion of the graphics and 3 parallax layers.

And this is even more incredible because Agony is considered to be a game that pushes the A500 hardware, and still they managed to replicate it so well on MSX.

Let's remember the Turbo R has a RISC coprocessor to help push stuff around, and it seems this software needs a special VDP too, the V9990, based off the V9978:

"The Yamaha V9978 Video Display Processor [...] was a very capable video IC, featuring two different sets of video modes. In bitmap modes it was capable of up to 768×240 resolution (up to 768×480 in interlace mode), up to 32768 colors, superimposing, hardware scrolling, and even a hardware cursor for Windows-like OSes. However the most impressive feature with these modes was the use of high-speed hardware bit block data mover."

So I guess it has a blitter?

Back in the 80s, as a Spectrum/Amstrad CPC owner, I was hugely impressed on the rare occasions I came across an MSX. Maybe a little jealous too.

Then I got an Amiga and it didn't matter anymore.

It's interesting, especially for the handful of Turbo R owners who also own a GFX9000 module.

Yeah I wonder what exactly it uses of the Turbo R, since the VDP module can be used with any MSX, I wonder if this could be ported to MSX2 or something.

Impressive if it was older MSX2/+ hardware, not so impressive on MSX TR hardware that came out in 1990.
Animation looks a little slower to me?
