I really enjoyed the interview, and I would love to hear the full original version.

Great podcast.
I also could listen to a lot more of it. A rare glimpse into the magical world of the hacker gods! I would love to hear the Robocop 3 copy protection dongle story first hand. |

Let's not forgot those who got jail time for this 'magical world' too! Maybe speak about those that got caught and how they got caught plus what happened to them?

I don't think anyone ever got busted for cracking. Most of the busts would have been sysops or people using fraudulent methods to make calls.
PS. I enjoyed listening to the interview. I can't believe you got away with throwing sickies to stay off work and crack games - they must've thought you were a hypochondriac. |

those crack intros are very nostalgic memories and I actually sometimes prefer to load floppy games (from real floppies or Gotek) over whdload.
Edit: btw, are there any lists of what games each crack team did? Last edited by turrican9; 22 March 2016 at 13:10. |

Is there much to say on that? Ocean basically set a challenge to all cracking groups by saying it was uncrackable. Red rag to a bull. It then became a bigger title for the groups than it would have otherwise... Now if they had NOT put ANY protection on it.. well...

I'll have to disagree here, plus the anecdotes were interesting and explained in a clear and entertaining way. If you ever get around it, you should definitely consider doing some podcasts about cracking and copy protections in general.
