Amiga games on the Atari 2600

[ Show youtube player ]

Some of the Amiga power up! games on the 2600 ...

luckily they stopped making games and made the Amiga finally.

Whilst Amiga Corp. weren't designing revolutionary computers that would take the world by storm (that's the Amiga by the way), they produced Atari 2600 games. One of the games that was announced but never released was a game known as Surf's Up. Only two original copies of the game are known to exist although it can be found on a few 2600 ROM Sites and the Digital Press CD. The game is designed for use with the Amiga Joyboard hardware. The cartridge was just 8K and used bankswitching to increase the amount of data that can be run on the Atari 2600. (Amiga history)

>>To raise money for the Lorraine project, Amiga Corp. designed and sold joysticks and game cartridges for popular game consoles such as the Atari 2600 and ColecoVision
...Atari continued to be interested in the team's efforts throughout this period, and funded them with $500,000 in capital in return for first use of their resulting chipset.
