What exactly is it Amiga Inc does?
Yea I've tried to make sense of the info on their website but.. alas.. cant figure it out.-.. some of the stuff they advertise is laughably outdated.. (um.. Amiga anywhere running on Windows CE... weee)
Ok so there are a bunch of old Amiga games (remakes) for sale in the rather sad Blackberry app store. But half of the stuff shown on the main Blackberry page doesn't shop up at all in the store... Anyhoo, I doubt they own the IP for any of those games.. so what are they selling? An Emulator that runs Amiga OS under Blackberry OS somehow? Is there a legit company somewhere under the pile of crap somewhere or is it just some annoying dude holding some strategic licenses hoping it will bring is some cash. |

In another italian forum, talking about C=BV holdings the term "Brand Troll" came out; i think it fits them like a glove too

I think 'they' are virtual non-existent these days...
Hopefully one day soon their site will disappear and history can forget the name |

How about a kickstarter to buy the brand Not for any real purpose, just so that some clown doesn't own it and future small-run projects don't have to fear being chased down.

In all seriousness, what can the brand be worth now? If the A1200 case guys have raised nearly 100k euros through a kickstarter, I bet it would take a lot less money for whoever owns 'Amiga' to give up the goods. I for one would happily pay some money for it to be 'open sourced' or whatever the equivalent term is for businesses.

Is the Amiga brand all they own? Arent there OS/Kickstart license issues too?
Or let me rephrase it.. if you wanted to open source OS 3.9 and all ROMs who would try to claim license rights ;-) Amiga Inc? Cloanto? Hyperion? |
