music prog for vanilla A500
Can anyone recommend music programs that run on a non expanded A500? That is available as adf or some other format that I can get over to the miggy through adfsender or Amiga explorer? Also if something else than workbench 1.3 is needed.
I have tried some programs but they return code 20, I suspect that is due to low memory. Maybe they are for another type of Amiga, I can not tell. I am looking for a tracker, and especially a chiptracker. Any other experimental music software is very welcome too. B) |

This looks promising!
As a test prior posting I tried to run Game Music Creator (1989 Bitmagic) because it is old and supposed to be simple (lightweight too I assumed). But code 20 came out. Same with OctaMED. So I am a bit surprised that all these will work, but that is awesome! I have yet to try to put them on floppy and test them. |

I'm sure I used to use Protracker (might have been Soundtracker actually) on my unexpanded A500 back in the day. I could be wrong though because I did add half a meg to it in the end...

If I remeber right, Protracker up to 3.15 works fine on an A500. Even OctaMed. Most music/sampling software should work.

you´ll only need kickstart2.0+ if you plan to use OctaMED v5 or higher.
I have found some ADF images you can start with. It claims to work on a plain A500. Can boot from these. DOWNLOAD:http://www.retrodisco.es/software/RetroTrackers.zip CONTENTS: http://www.retrodisco.es/tutoriales/...otrackers.html You´ll need some sample disks in ADF format, download here: Good Luck, we hope listen some of your noises! |
