New to FS-UAE
Just like for everything else, I find excitement about trying something new and figuring out how it works, I decided to give a try to this emulator.
It seems easy to setup, lots of automation, but it is bit confusing for some stuff, so here I will post couple of n00b questions. Just a small note, I tried it in windows environment, but my plan is to use it on my Ubuntu @ home (still on 12.04 LTS) Basic question, as I am kind of organizing freak, what folders you use for what, for example, where do you place SPS, ADF or WHDLoad installs? I see on positive side that just placing WHDload key in the same folder as EXE made it recognize the key. I haven't tried save state yet, but being able to play 2-3 different versions of the same game, makes me wonder, will I have for each of them (for example WHDLoad version vs. ADF version) save state slots, or those are universal over game?! |

Hi, im a windows-user as well but it doesnt matter.
![]() I have a folder structure built by romvault using the latest TOSEC dat-files. FS-UAE has now just to be pointed to the folder containing all folders built by romvault. Whdload has its own folder inside this structure. My observation for the save states is that each variant gets its own state. best regards profo |

FS-UAE doesn't need a specific folder structure for your own content, it can go whereever you'd like it to go. I personally just have a folder for WHDLoads, another for Workbenches another for IPF files, etc. Just add those folders to the folder/content list when you tell it to scan and it'll pick everything up and remember it for future.

OK, got games setup, recognized and in DB.
Now question, if I use FS-UAE Arcade, witch by the way is eye candy, how do you select what format is preferable when you click 'play game'? For example, if in case of WHDLoad, I like first to load WHDLoad, if there is no WHDLoad for game, try ADF (mostly with trainer) and if there is no one, go for SPS?! Thanks! |

You can modify primary game variant via FS-UAE Launcher. Just select the game variant, and then mark it by using star button (mark as favorite variant) or thumb-up button.

Oh, I see... me being blind...
Just confuses me because I remember telling him the same for EAB not even month ago. ![]() BTW, FS-UAE is easy to setup and use, ideal for simple emulation. Now, all we need is version for RaspberryPi that would use all 4 cores. ![]() ![]() |
