Only way to find out if my new method to secure the Vampire to the motherboard worked. The board uses spacers to ensure that it sits square with the motherboard and will prevent overtightening. Final bits will use all nylon instead of metal

I don't get how this is holding on if there's no glue. Whatever you've done it doesn't get more secure than that. A4000s would probably work their CPU cards loose with that much movement. Most impressive.

the key is the hollow spacers between the top of the motherboard and the bottom of the vampire, they are slightly smaller than the height of the socket so that the screw feeding up from the bottom of the motherboard (going through the HDD cradle hole and the hollow spacer) is tightened by the nut on top of the vampire causing it to sit square and tight and also preventing it to be overtightened and bend, so it is solid!.

This will only work on boards that use the lower HDD cradle holes as there needs to be equal pressure on either side of the CPU socket.

There is a friendlier method i am working on too using just nylon parts, but they are on the long boat from China lol

Regardless of how well this is mounted, I would never have the guts to use the board as a adjunct to the instrumentals of the music! This is the privilege of building your own! ... I suppose if you ever did need to get 'rid of stock' I'd happily try and salvage it lol.
