performance OS4.1FE
Hi All,
I had the chance to play with a WinUAE install of OS4.1FE. Ranger reported it was running on a 604@273 MHZ. It however was insanely slow (like an 68020-28mhz). Is OS4.1FE also slow on a 603@330MHZ? I know fast and slow are subjective, but has someone experience with OS 4.1FE on real hardware 603 and how it compares to for example OS 3.1/3.9 etc? Thanks |

4.1 is painfully slow on classic Amiga hardware. It runs well on more modern 2ghz Amiga one systems but on classic it’s pretty tedious

OS4.1 runs pretty well on a real CSPPC@200MHz. WinUAE doesn't run Classic mode OS4.1 very well, so that sounds about right. Running WarpOS stuff on WinUAE is somewhere between 1/5 and 1/3 of the speed as my A4000 with a Sonnet. I don't have BlizzardPPC experience so I can't speak to that.
