Cheers m8!
![]() Symphony of the Night, Castlevania III, Rondo of Blood (PC-Engine and the awesome PSP-remake), Bloodlines, Super Castlevania IV, Aria of Sorrow, Circle of the Moon - these are all among the best games ever created! ![]() |

Yeah, I enjoyed them, too (even Castlevania Legends).

Of course SotN is the best. It's art. But it offers NO challenge at all - unlike every older (linear) Castlevania title.

Akumajô Dracula X is the best oldschool Castlevania. No doubt.

"Akumajô Dracula X - Chi no Rondo" is the japanese title of the game you mean. "Akumajô Dracula X - Gekka no Yasôkyoku" means "Demon Castle Dracula X - Nocturne in the Moonlight" and is the japanese version of "Symphony of the Night" And then there is the worst old school Castlevania: "Akumajô Dracula XX" for SNES which still is very playable and very challenging. It's known as "Dracula X" in USA and "Vampire's Kiss" in Europe. It tells the same story as Rondo of Blood but has completely different level layouts. Btw.: The real transliteration for the japanese characters is "Akumajyō Dorakyura" ![]() </smartassmode> While "Rondo of Blood" is one of the best old-school Castlevanias I still prefer "Castlevania III - Dracula's Curse" (Akumajô Densetsu) because it's harder, has even more paths to choose from and additionally to Trevor Belmont (Ralph in Japan) you get to play as Sypha, Grant and Alucard (even if totally different from the SotN-Alucard). Rondo of Blood only has Maria Renard as additional character - and she sucks donkeys balls with her stupid birds as attack. |

Let's not forget the X68000 version , which is old-school-awesome! (released as Castlevania Chronicles on PSX)
Truly SOTN on the PSX is a masterpiece ... Music, gfx and gameplay is superb! Too bad the Saturn port is crappy, it had some extra stuff... Did you guys enjoyed the PS2 Curse of Darkness and Lament of Innocence? LOI was the reason I got a PS2 , but I don't recall finishing it, or COD... ![]() as a sidenote, I got a PSP for the Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles ![]() I wonder if they will make a x360 'vania... or a ps3... |

I refuse to buy a Nintendo DS (happy with PSP because of its emulators), but I must complete its 3 (or 4?) Castleroids some day, too.
Do they work well with the emulator "No$GBA"? |

Agreed, Dawn Of Sorrow was a great game. The second one wasn't AS good but was still good fun. Not played the third yet...

third one is a little different, but equally good as the first one. The level bosses of the third one are a right pain in the arse though, a little frustrating at times.

GBA have unofficial, great Castlevania clone (I think I have it from pdroms.de, offline now). I can find it at home on my harddrive.
