Innocent Until Caught

A nice Sci-Fi adventure in Sierra style. Very untypical for Psygnosis, but i like it. Any chances for a WHDLoad install? Last edited by Retro-Nerd; 16 September 2009 at 04:37. |

This is the first original Amiga game I bought, got Universe at the same time, both on my shelf and in mint condition.
IUC has some of the worst ingame music I've heard, the tunes are soooo boring.... |

It has conversion notes but it doesn't actually have the PC listed as conversion hardware in HOL.

I would also like to know if it's possible to fix the mouse lag that plagued the Amiga version of the game? It felt like I was pulling the pointer with a rubber band.

Talking of nice PC adventures, today I bought Dreamfall the longest journey. £5 in HMV. Is it any good?

Yes it is. Well, at least the story is good. The puzzles aren't all that, and the interface is kinda weak. Not to mention it has some annoyingly pointless stealth sections.
But overall, I enjoyed the game very much, simply for the story, music, atmosphere and graphics. It's not quite The Longest Journey, but it does feel like one. |

BTW, the popup screenshot for Innocent 2 is broken on the main HOL entry page.
I imagine the PC version is better as the Amiga version doesn't seem to be AGA. |

Shame when that happens, i would have loved another Advent Rising - had it's flaws but the story was great and it played well

Hehhe, no worries, I actually AM working on it, i.e. it's not forgotten. However, fixing the f....ed up mouse crap is trickier than I first expected so I guess it'll take a while until I have a proper slave (or just give up trying to fix/recode the utterly crappy mouse handling).

I assume this is a custom mouse driver for the game. There is no chance to use another one, without recoding it complete?

To recode it is actually not the problem, the problem is that I want to have smooth (i.e. usuable) mouse behaviour and that involves a lot more than just recoding the mouse stuff. But I still have some ideas that I want to try out as soon as I have some time. Patience please. :-)

Sure, i can wait. But just release it, if you can't fix the mouse controls. I can live with it.

That's what I will do once I have no idea left how to fix the mouse stuff. But I don't want to give up that fast as exactly this jerky mouse handling was the reason I stopped playing the game back in the day even though I found the story/gfx etc. quite good.
