Doesn't ring a bell but if you find it, AMR would like to know which issue it was on (assuming it's an Amiga mag!)

I've only come across a few cover tapes so far - Amiga format no.12 plus a few CUs. Certainly nothing that matches what you are looking for.

Matthew is right. I think you're referring to "6 Amazing Coin-Op Soundtracks" which was on the B-Side of a Sinclair User (ahem) Megatape in November 1989.
EMAP (publisher of SU) was, to the best of my knowledge, the only publisher that had this sort of arrangement (giving away Sega's Out Run soundtrack with C&VG and Atari's 720 degrees) and it would be very unusual for an Amiga mag (or any disk-based mag) to give away a tape... So, I think your memory is playing tricks! Here's a link to the tracks on the tape: ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/si...Issue092/TapeB The tracks featured are (the Amiga versions of, despite SU claiming "arcade" of) Continental Circus, Gemini Wing, Ninja Warriors, Shinobi and Silkworm, plus the genuine arcade version of Double Dragon 2. If you feel the need to check Earlier Issues of C&VG then you should check out this Archive at Wos. The cassette that Mark mentioned, featuring the Music from Outrun and 720 was given away with Issue 75 of C&VG. |

Just as a brief aside, I always remember the "Hot Gossip" section in issue 76 of C&VG unwittingly revealing just how they sourced their "preview" versions and "exclusive" software to review:
ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/si...VG07600138.jpg Take a look at the text at the bottom of the "Dark Castle" title page There was also an issue of Amiga Format where they used a screetshot from the classic "Unit A" intro to illustrate their review of the A64 emulator. But anyway. Back on topic, as for this tape, maybe it was on Commodore User - I'm sure I remember an issue with Silkworm on the cover before it became CU Amiga. |
