"HDF emulation" for large single-file binaries (e. g. demos)
This could be a very important feature for some of us guys.
Currently, it's damn hard to get a > 880 K single-file binary working on WinUAE. Either you have to use a WB, or boot up an alien HDF set to DH0: up to the 1> prompt, cd to the volume with the file in question residing on, say, DH1:, then start the executable manually. Most people do have a WB; however, what about projects like Amiga demobase where this is supposed to be automated? Also bug reports about bigger demos wrapped in those single-file binaries would be easier to check / reproduce for you that way, Toni. Before I forget: if you do decide to implement this, and detect someone adding a single-file binary to DFX: floppy drives, please DO NOT allow > 880K binaries any longer because the runme.exe won't fit on the "disk" anyhow. |

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=28482 is close enough by also allowing "plain" files as a harddrive.
(this may be implemented partially in next beta) |

Thank you! Looking forward to checking this out!
Currently you get "Not a DOS disk in device DH0". Last edited by andreas; 11 June 2007 at 01:31. |
