"Read only" and "Disk swapper"
Hello,
I am just finishing off a WinUAE front end and I've run into a little problem. Does anyone know where the "read only" settings (for floppies) is stored? It doesn't appear to be in the .UAE file or the registry. Also (I couldn't find this mentioned in any of the other threads) but the disk swapper doesn't work in version 0.8.27. I've doubled clicked, but nothing happens... Is this just a problem I'm having? (I would also be interested in where these files are recorded, too.) Cheers in advance, Ulric |

- *.ZIP files are _always_ mounted read-only by default. You can, however, uncheck the write-protect checkbox, which will make you able to write to the extracted adf. This file is saved as name_save.adf. Note that neither the ZIP itself nor its contents will be touched in any way! - ADFs are always mounted read-write by default, unless the *.ADF file is write protected by Windows properties. |

Hi,
I've just done some more testing and WinUAE definately remembers which drive/file is read only and which are not. (By the way, I'm not using zipped ADFs). It seems to infer that it is stored in the .UAE file but I can't find any value relating to this. Puzzling.... Ulric. |

UAE non-zipped adf read/write-status uses Windows read-only flag. Thats all.

Aaaahhh... Doh!
So simple it's obvious. Cheers for that. I seem to be at the stage in life where I can do the complicated things, but the simple things always catch me out. Ulric |
