Question Anything like AGS for PC etc ??

I know someone who's looking for a cheap console - I was thinking an old PC with a good selection of emulators and games etc but what would make it perfect would be some kind of AGS menu etc.

Anyone got any ideas.

It's a frontend? Or it's more than that?

There's a pretty good FAQ for it: https://www.retroarch.com/index.php?page=faq

Maybe just install it and have a look for yourself?

As you can see from the downloads page RetroArch is available for Windows 95, so older PCs should be fine.

Retroarch's menu spaghetti is not for the faint of heart. Other, more approachable options include Launchbox and Ares emulator.

Also, perhaps it's better to get an RPi and run Lakka or Retropie.

Not just Amiga other Retro systems etc

I just tried RetroArch quickly on my phone and seems good. But yeah really I want a MENU/FRONTEND for someone who's not computer savvy and can just select a game etc.

I've seen from a few of your posts you've mentioned AGS. I assume you mean Amiga Games Selector.

Yeah a frontend like that but for PC.

AGS is just the Name of the Menu/Frontend - it's name has kind of been highjacked by compilations that use it etc.

In that case, Batocera, Best Frontend I have ever used. Coupled with Screen scrapper, absolutely awesome.

So linux does not run on PC?

You set it up on a usb drive, stick, sd. Boot into that.

I have a 1TB SD setup just for emulation. I boot into that, on my steam deck. Else I can just take 1TB and put it in my ROG Ally.
