I've not really had much contact with him back in the day, but lately he seemed to be a nice older dude with a passion for his original creation who had embarked on a journey to update it to a Javascript platform, all of which was quite charming. (Not that I personally would buy AMOS-for-PC as the Amiga is part of the whole AMOS coding deal in my eyes, but I guess others might). Seems he's all about the money and is just seeing euro-signs everywhere now. Which is a great shame. Quote:

François is bipolar. He may just be on a manic high right now. Let's see if he cools off after a while.

Update: Freddix (Frédéric) will rerelease his code as a closed source extension to an older version of AmosPro.
François is no longer on the AmosPro coders group on FB and is therefore not an admin there either. Freddix' blocking on the group was an accident by another admin and NOT the work of François. The kicking out was, however Freddix has been readmitted now that François is no longer an admin. |

Yeah I was going to say no one could stop him releasing a Extension or a Patch for the main executable.

To put things in context, wasn't the source made public domain? I thought Francois was not even the owner anymore, right ? I remember reading of a guy, Pietro Ghizzoni, to be the legal owner to the original source code. So, how can Francois slap a GPL3, retroactively, on something he should not own?
Please feel free to correct any point I may have gotten wrong or inaccurate |

I have to say I'm not a big fan of keeping the sources of AMOS Pro AGA closed. I didn't witness all the FB drama, but that's just even more reason to put any new stuff under a copyleft license, no?

The AGA version will be under the relevant licence. AFAIK, it will also be open source, but simply may just be periodically uploaded. |

Installation?
Hi.
Just wondering in terms of install? Overwrite existing AMOS folder? Or copy relevant S, Devs etc?? Get error running from source folder... Any help appreciated. SC |
