Horrible to type? Not if you use a proper editor.
Hard to read? It's the same thing as coloured syntax highlighting in modern editors, alas that wasn't an option when E was created. |

Don't you have a language-sensitive editor on your Amiga? TurboText has modes for all kinds of languages.

If Amiga E has no integrated editor performing the conversion and requires to type things in caps, then i'll join Thorham - it's horrible.

I think what you're trying to say is that case-sensitive keywords is a horrible design choice.

I really didn't mind the caps back in the day, you get used to it. I remember converting quite a bit of E to C in the late 90's, porting my stuff to Djgpp under DOS. Good times
