Dug out this old thread, but still it is unclear what date we should consider as a birth of EAB? I think there is upcoming anniversary next year, but when? Could it be Feb 25, when it started to sit on its final URL?

Definitely some time between February and March 2001! RCK will probably know.
I believe RCK set it up in February but didn't open it to the public until a later date. There's only two users who joined on February 25th, RCK and Leto2 (http://eab.abime.net/member.php?u=4) The next user joining the board was Jambo on March 6, I kind of think this was when it opened to thw public. |

The forum at rck-power.com (2000 + vBulletin v1) was already public (even with no visitors )
So yes, we can consider the move at eab.abime.net is the birth of EAB (final URL + vBulleting v2 + open to public) The first public post of me was also the 25/02/2001: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=3 What a long time, it feel another life to me |

EAB and Amiga has changed alot, when I joined it was just kids and any new idea was met with that will never work, we dont like it etc, Amiga hardware and software seemed stagnant, now look at eab and Amiga.

People are still bickering, there's a lot of skeptics (me included), there's a bit more hardware but still not enough software... |

i was addicted to my amiga 1000 when i first got it in 1987, then sold it, bought a3000 and sold it few years later.
now over the last year or two i am back being amiga addicted. i have since repurchased an a3000d, got it optioned the way i want, recently got an a1000 and now time to dump cash into it. i have been reading all back issues of amazing computing, amigaworld and a ton other amiga mags (have complete collections of all digitally on my ipad) reading them chronologically so i can get caught up with everything i used to know and everything i didnt know. the only thing that has really changed for me is my age. I was 18 or 19 back in 1987 when i got my first amiga and here i am 47 and feeling all nostalgic. the only thing that saddens me is seeing all those old ads for amiga / commodore trade shows wishing that they said something like 'amiga expo coming 12/5/2015' instead of '12/5/1987'. |

I kept in contact with Twistin' until a few years ago. Google decided to be a jerk with my e-mail account, so I lost his e-mail address. He was doing well if I recall. |
