Hello, I just wanted to pin point this :
Maupiti Islands was first released for Atari ST in french in May 1990. Next the amiga conversion in french was released in July 1990. The other amiga language versions were released later in 1991, like the PC version. Can someone fix or correct this ? All the maupiti islands ADF are flagged as 1991 in year of release, it's wrong. thanks |

I think you're referring to an old version of TOSEC, the French version is already marked 1990 : [A9D89D09] Maupiti Island (1990)(Lankhor)(FR)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr ATZ] [46834FDD] Maupiti Island (1990)(Lankhor)(FR)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr ATZ][f ATZ] [26F2CCFD] Maupiti Island (1990)(Lankhor)(FR)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr ATZ] [7C66933A] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(DE)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr EP] [7F8F6A59] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(DE)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr EP] [34DDA13C] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr CLS] [2410B0ED] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr FLT] [09CE9D51] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr FLT][a] [9962F06A] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr FLT][h KTS] [529641E9] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 1 of 2)[cr FLT][h Real-Time] [A54D83C6] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr CLS] [37847026] Maupiti Island (1991)(Lankhor)(Disk 2 of 2)[cr FLT] |

Hi, forgotten mess at these games. Boxscans, manuals, posters, inlays etc. Should be deleted. Why? You probably didn't understand tosec structure. This "mess" should be in "TOSEC-PIX", not here in "TOSEC".

Not important. Pics should be in TOSEC-PIX. Here is nothing to discuss. If I would want some pics, always go to TOSEC-PIX never TOSEC. OK shouldn't be deleted, just moved.

These "Boxscans, manuals, posters, inlays etc." are bundled with the .IPFs as they are obviously needed for these games that have manual protection etc... Personally, and I'm sure many others; don't want to be jumping through various TOSEC sections to get the required manuals for Amiga games. You want to have everything required bundled in the .IPF archives Anyway, I'm not going to discuss further with you. You've voiced your opinion, let's see what the official TOSEC team decide shall we? |

the documents are there for good reason. They are part of the archive provided by SPS. This is also why the database is called "Commodore Amiga - Games - SPS" and not "Commodore Amiga - Games - IPF". However, I agree with you on the principle and on the fact that the media could be transferred to TOSEC-PIX even if this is not planned at the moment... |

Hi, Yet note about "Games - SPS" You have there forgotten note "region lock" (NTSC) only at one game "QIX (1989)(Taito)(NTSC)(US)[3043]" You can delete it, but I think, region lock "(NTSC)" is quite important note. I would add it everywhere. It's only about 29 games. But, it's up to you. Only one of two ways... Everywhere or nowhere. Look here for overview: http://www.softpres.org/games&search...k&sortdir=DESC P.S. Is it really OK, twice "Unreal 0033"? (DE is bit copy+DE boxscans) |

It's a shame that by default the RegionLock is set to PAL. Because there are also protections to prevent PAL versions from working on NTSC systems More info... For the reasons given above, yes it's normal (even if I don't like it too much...) |

Hi, I have for you a few tips... 1. Commodore Amiga - Kickstart-Disks I am missing here "CD32 FMV Cartridge-ROM r40.30 (1994)(Commodore)(CD32)[needs rom.key] (It's my name). Also listed in Cloanto's ROM site https://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/. Shouldn't it be in this section? (Kickstart-Disks) (or maybe in Firmware, because there are Action Replay Cartridges, I don't know...) 2. Commodore Amiga - Operating Systems - Workbench Look at this perfect name format used in "Commodore Amiga - Kickstart-Disks" Kickstart v2.04 r37.175 (1991-05)(Commodore)(A3000) and now look at name format used in "Workbench" Workbench v1.3.3 rev 34.34 (1990)(Commodore)(Disk 1 of 2)(Workbench)[m] It would be perfect to have both formats the same. That means, just "r" not "rev". "r" is nicer, shorter, and mainly, both format systems are united. 3. Commodore Amiga - Operating Systems - Workbench I used this dat file on Cloanto's Adf for interest and found out.... 10 of 17 is unneeded (It's OK) 5 of 17 is correctly renamed and with note "Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition" (It's OK) Workbench v1.0 (1985)(Commodore)[Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition] Workbench v1.1 rev 31.334 (1986)(Commodore)(Disk 1 of 2)(Workbench)[Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition] Workbench v1.2 rev 33.56 (1987)(Commodore)(A2000)(Disk 1 of 2)(Workbench)[Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition] Workbench v2.0 rev 36.68 (1990)(Commodore)(A3000)(Disk 1 of 3)(Workbench)[Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition] Workbench v2.1 rev 38.35 (1992)(Commodore)(M10)(Disk 2 of 5)(Workbench)[Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition] last 2 of 17 are correctly renamed but without note "Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition" Here are that 2 files with their original Cloanto name Workbench v2.04 rev 37.67 (1991)(Commodore)(Disk 1 of 4)(Workbench)[m2] = amiga-os-204-workbench Workbench v3.0 rev 39.29 (1992)(Commodore)(A1200-A4000)(M10)(Disk 2 of 6)(Workbench)[m5] = amiga-os-300-workbench So, shouldn't these last two "sets" be also with "Cloanto Amiga Forever Edition" note? 4. Question Maybe exists somewhere full list of naming conventions, but I didn't find it on a first look. Some, I understood, some didn't... Namely: [!] [m, m1, m2...] [o] [b] - bug?... I don't know What Do they mean exactly? Thanks |
