Have I gone Amiga crazy?
Since I'll be getting my A1200 only in June...in the meantime I can't stop browsing the forum and read all the Amiga related stuff..and all of that would be fine..if I hadn't stumbled upon on a fairly cheap A600 with 2 sticks and 100 games..so I'm now being tempted to actually buy it on top of planning to order NOS A1200..
And now I'm kinda being torned apart between being patient and wait untill June or simply endulge to my weakness and get the A600 so I can have some fun with floppy games in the meantime. Anyone had a similar situation? Is there an Anonymus Amiga (Ab)users Club somewhere I could sign up to? Last edited by Kenan; 01 May 2013 at 14:24. |

Cantstopbuyingamigastuffitus maybe?

Oh don't worry you're not crazy Actually that's quite normal. It would be crazy not to do so
Regarding A600 - go for it ! Immediately. It is a lovely machine and it will be your pet And when Petro's A1200 arrives, build it as a powerhouse |

Have I gone Amiga crazy?
DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY BIG BOX AMIGAS!
The A2000 is built like a tank and expandable as can be. The A3000 is sleek, minimally expandable and opening the case will slice your hand to shreds. It can really only be tinkered with by taking it apart completely. Good luck inserting Zip RAM. The A4000D has a slow IDE, an easy to damage plastic front fascia, easy to die PSU, and is "tight" on expand ability, but its Big Brother A4000T has built in IDE/SCSI, tons of drive bays, standard AT case & PSU, easy to expand Zorro 3 slots, two video slots, and can be popped open to play with the innards in a matter of seconds, especially if you use Thumb-Screws. |

^^Nah, I'm not interested in those..actually, I get turned off when seeing A1200 turned into PC ie. removed the casings and put inside a PC Box and then use a PC keyboard instead..Aaarghh..no matter how good it is, it's a no-no for me.

Nice paintjob on the black one.
Real Amiga hardware is not much fun without real Amiga games to go with it. |

Currently I own just over 50 Amiga's, all working and being upgraded and repaired. I have them all, except the A3000UX, 2500UX and the A3500. My main reason is that I wanted them already when I started out with my A500. At that time I was a student, so not much cash to buy them. In late 2009 I picked up, what I left in the garage around 1997 and to my surprise both A500's worked. I bought an A1200, 600, 2000, 4000D and 3000D in 1 week. In 2010 alone I bought 22 Amiga's. 2011 was the big year, again some 20 Amiga's including 3000T and 3000T 040 and also my first A4000T. 2012 was a lot less, 6 or something, but again an A4000T and a second A2500 and 3000D. 2013 so far is mainly been A1200's. I also got most 060 cards and RTG cards, I'm focused more on 030 and 060 cards, I have very few 040 cards and 1 Cyberstorm PPC. All of them are mainly for games and demos and most of them turn up at events, so yes, they are all used at least once a year. My main system is the 3000T and for games my mint A1200HD40. |

a few years back I'd have said no to an A600, having owned one since they came out I was always bothered by the lack of upgrades... but now, I'd snap one up in a heartbeat to replace my broken and gutted one collecting dust in the attic my first port of call would be the cpu/ram/flickerfixer upgrade from Individual... an ide CF card and a wireless lan pcmcia card. would make a brilliant portable WHDLoad machine (but obviously no AGA)
