Actually, I do mention Robocod a few posts up. And before that, Shatterhand mentioned it. It's one of my fav games ever. And I agree about Tearaway Thomas...fast as lightning (and a great game besides!) But Flood is just borderline cute, IMO. And another Shatterhand mentioned, Trolls, is (dare I say) precious. Ugh...I can't believe I used that word.
Shit. There now I feel better since I diffused one word with another. |

It's all about balance, Twist. Precious shit puts you back in zero
How could I forget Tearaway Thomas? Nice cute platformer. Oh, and I find Mr. Nutz to be quite cute. Specially teh hitpoints with their cute voices! My sister used to go ga-ga at those little bastards! |

Those hitpoints were annoying to go catch.
I liked the theme of "an army of chickens (Some being so chicken they hide in bushes) against a lone squirrel". |

I had problems enough to keep alive to bother chasing after those hitpoints at time. They got back at me though. Or rather the level designer did with that stupid level with massive amounts of water where I kept either drowning or dieing of losing hitpoints

On the Amiga I still think the original James Pond was great in the "cute" games status.
Everyone has already mentioned other classics like Creatures, Bubble Bobble, Superfrog etc. |

I think the whole James Pond thing is very cute. The James Pond trilogy and Aquatic Games are all very cute games... And of what I've seen, Vectordean ONLY did cute games. They also did Rolo to The Rescue, the game I posted screenshots a few posts above, and a commando a like game with cute graphics for Amiga only (I can't remember the name now)
Anyone knows more Vectordean games? Or maybe more games from Chris Sorrel? |

Well, Vectordean also did Bad Company (1989/Logotron) and Fire and Brimstone (1990/Microprose) which Sorrel also did gfx for both. Sorrel also did gfx for Dogs of War (1989/Elite), and programming on Yolanda (1990/Millennium).
And for completeness, gfx & programming on James Pond - Underwater Agent (1990) and Jame Pond 2 - Codename Robocod ECS/AGA (1992/1993), as well as the gfx on James Pond 2 - Codename Robocod CD32 (1993), all from Millennium. |

I'd hate it if Mayhem were converted to the Amiga. They'd ruin it for sure
Keep it on the C64 |

Yep, but I only seen the name "House on a Disk" for the Amiga Version .... Little Computer People AFAIK only appeared for the C64 and CPC version .....

I believe one of my former friends had a version of LCP which had the label Little Computer People. Not house on a disk, and for the Amiga.
Another fairly cute game (Well it could be considered from some angles) would be Wonderboy in Monsterland. |

This reminds me ... I gotta start a thread about games that were great on the C64, but were ruined on the Amiga. |

My pleasure, Shatterhand. If you need any of that stuff, let me know if you turn up blanks in yer searching.
Onto LCP: I used to own a copy of this game for the Amiga and it was known as Little Computer People. The 'House On A Disk' thing was just a subtitle that appeared in a couple of places (maybe somewhere on the box and maybe somewhere in the manual), but it was clear that the game name was LCP. |

@ Twistin
It's the other way round. Disk label & manual said LCP, ingame said 'HOAD'. At least it's like that on the Power Hits compilation. |

Perhaps, but I was referring to the original Activision release here in the States (I believe the origin of this game to be US, unless I am mistaken). Power Hits compilation surely came after the fact. As far as I know, the game may have never had a proper standalone release in Europe and only appeared as budget and/or compilation.
The actual full name of the game is "The Activision Little Computer People Discovery Kit". Maybe the European version was modified to suggest the different name, although I fail to understand why. |
