Upgrade A2286 to 4.2 BIOS
Has anyone upgraded their A2286 bridgeboard to the 4.2 BIOS? I just tried flashing the files that I've been using for WinUAE to a couple of 27C256 EPROMs, duplicating the data so that it fills each chip. This doesn't seem to work, the board doesn't boot at all. Any suggestions on how to do this properly?
*** EDIT *** Solved - for whatever reason, the smaller 27C256 EPROM didn't work but the larger and easier to program 27C512 EEPROM did. Only difference is that I had to paste the BIOS image 4 times instead of twice into each chip. Very strange though, considering that the card shipped with EPROMs and the 4.2 BIOS came on 27C128's so you'd think that would be what would work better. Go figure. I've attached the files that I used in case they're helpful for anyone else. Last edited by hawkman; 03 March 2022 at 20:56. |
