SIM CITY 64 Colour Amiga Version
Hi Mayor´s
I am just curious if people even know that there is a 64 Colour Version. Its not only the colours but the 1.2 Version of Sim City features a second screen with the Map and Stats. Very useful. There where a few versions of Sim City. Sim City 1.0 (512kb 16 Colour) - the inital release Sim City 1.1 (512kb 16 Colour) - bug fixes Sim City 1.2 (1MB 64 Colour) - more features and 64 Colours Sim City 1.2.2 (1MB 64 Colour) - Basicly 1.2 with the 2 Graphic Data Disks included. Those Data Disks where pretty much only graphic exchanges , so Cities can be changed to MediEvil,Future and so on. But pretty neat Sim City 1.3 was never released but the Spanish Group Zorlac & Dominators claimed that they cracked it. I call that a "urban myth" . Its a hack of 1.2 Sim City 1.3+ was basicly the same as the "supposed 1.3 version" but with the 2 Data Disk included. It was done by a Spanish cracker called Darkness. Hope that cleared some things up Even LemonAmiga had a false post on there Website about the 64 Colour version https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=4491 Anyway, i basicly wanted to know how many of you lovely people where even aware of the confusing History of Sim City on the Amiga and the 64 colour version. Did you know of the 64 Colour Version ? Here a Video of Sim City played on Amiga. (16 colours of c course) [ Show youtube player ] and here somebody that knew of the 64 Colour version [ Show youtube player ] Greetings and all the best to you Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 08 August 2021 at 17:38. Have a disk in italy with the 1.2 and you can tell is a 64 [EHB to be precise] version: the icons, the units, all did look so good! One of the favorite games of my brother - ok mine too, but he did like to build cities and then destroy them

I only knew of this 64 color version. I never knew of the original. I found a copy and fired it up and it is indeed ungly, hate the icons!
I have SimCity 1.2.2 but it says it's for 512k. This one uses new graphics library files, for the expansion packs. Version 1.2 uses older graphics packs called SimData1, SimData2, SimData3. Last edited by TjLaZer; 08 August 2021 at 20:07. |

The majority say´s ....
[ Show youtube player ] Maybe same as the fact that Garf´s (Dana Carvey´s) Brother is the Engineer of the Video Toaster ! Thats why Dana was very into Science n Stuff; because of his Brother and Garf in Wayne´s World was kind of an Engineer/inventor too .. amongst other things You can see him wear also a Video Toaster T-Shirt in Waynes World 2 Sorry, getting really off track here Quote:
Anyway, Sim City is great and even after all this years i comming back to it, over and over. It just that much fun, to "build and destroy" The Amiga 1.2/1.2.2 Version is pretty much the best imho, because not only is it the prettiest and plays so dawm good, but you can even run the Sim City Terrain Editor in the background to make Map adjustments on the fly if needed and you can let Hippoplayer run in the background while all this is going on. Thats Mutitasking This is why i would recommend the nativ install and not a WHDLoad slave. It runs on pretty much every setting and if you have the right version it dosent have the password check. There was a "Deluxe" bundel with the 2 Graphic Discs included (1.2.2) that had no password check, but you have to find the right one. There where differend distributors and so many releleases.) (i dont think i just can upload it here.... EA will sue my smurfi ass, i guess) Very odd, maybe a mistake in the manifactoring run of this version. Version 1.2 requiere 1MB Chip-Mem. Dosent work with 512kb. Mistakes happens..still odd Anyhow, i am please to see that so many people did not know about the 64 EHB Colour version Greetings to all you lovely people out there. I can upload the original 1.2.2 version. (the graphic/data disks are included in that version)
This also dont have a password check by default (no crack) . There is also a Terrain Editor, and that as a hole makes the complete package I can upload it into the Zone. (Give me a few hours. i am a bit busy right now) I will upload it HardDisk Ready ? ok ? Until then, Torti. Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 10 August 2021 at 00:19. Reason: typo...dawm typo :) |

The File Structur is a bit different in 1.2.2
SimData2 is needed in 1.2 to get to the "Title Screen". SimData3 is needed in 1.2 for the Map/Stats/Screen to work. 1.2.2 dosent need them, they are baked in No content missing. 1.2.2 with the additional Terrain Editor 1.1 is the "Complete Pak" Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 09 August 2021 at 23:13. Hmmm, i am not sure. It dosen´t look as colourful to me,
but maybe somebody knows or will count the colours But Sim City plays just so much better imho with a Mouse, dont you think and the interface in the CDTV version ? Hmm,, still cool it exists tho. Maybe one day a WHDLoad slave could add Mouse support for the CDTV version. We will see ; ...or not Last edited by Torti-the-Smurf; 09 August 2021 at 23:34. Reason: typo...again |
