Well, Paul...if you feel that the spoiler has *spoiled* too much, you could always code a couple of fresh parts and refrain from letting anyone see them/preview them.

There'll definitely be more parts.
The current part I've been working on I may not include in the megademo but I've got ideas for another part that I'm going to start coding soon and also an idea for the credits part too. There's three other coders who've said that they would like to contribute - they're under no obligation other than to have fun though so we'll wait and see what comes from those guys too. You can always contribute a part too Darth P! |

If anyone would like to pixel me a nice RETRO top logo (lores, max 32 colours, has to fit nicely inside the 320x64 area I have for it) then I'm sure I could find a use for it at some point... And same goes for any protracker heros who have a nice MOD bursting to come out And don't panic, there's no rush. Last edited by musashi5150; 29 November 2009 at 18:08. |

I now have a lovely logo to use So I just need a nice protracker mod now. Chipmem space is quite tight so it needs to be well under 75K really. If I don't get any takers I'll get permission to borrow a nice chipmod instead

Quick update:
musashi5150 has been rocking and rolling and has already produced enough of a demo part that I've been able to see a preview of it! \o/ WayneK has also been knocking ideas about and will also hopefully be conjuring something up. Vortex is busy with his work at the moment - he's Unicode-ing apparently - but should be starting to make code for his part as time becomes more available. I made a part almost to completion that after some thought decided on leaving out of the megademo - maybe this will be standalone released at some point in the future though - but over the last week I made a new effect that I'd never done before which I'm very pleased with. After some enhancement this will go into the megademo as my second main part. |

Further update - Magnar of TBL / Scoopex has been sent my first main part and will hopefully be making a nice custom tune for it soon.
Another new musician friend, mk1, has been sent some information about another couple of parts and is making music for one of them and will maybe also find time to make some music for the other one too. And of course, ami_junkie is on board to make some tunes once his Amiga is sorted. @ korruptor - Well, there actually is no official release date but I'd say that I hope it will all be ready for release in the first quarter of next year. Doesn't really matter though - this is all just for fun. Anyway, even that won't be the end! As soon as it comes out I'm gonna start making something else - I love coding demos too much to stop now! |

Good news about your Amiga ami_junkie.
Basically you've got some choice as I see it. We'll still be wanting music for the part selector, Vortex's demo part, WayneK's demo part and the credits part. The part selector requirement is for a short (in terms of size in bytes) looping tune. Vortex and WayneK will probably want to discuss their requirements as they get closer to completing their parts. I've not even done a credits part yet but as I said, I think it should have a "that was really cool - sad it's over" type feeling. Three to five minutes song duration? All this stuff is flexible though... EDIT: Forgot to say, just to tantalise everyone a bit - nothing's decided yet but there might be another part by a special guest star too. Have there been any megademos released in the last few years? I can't remember actually seeing any. Seems to be a style that died in favour of trackmos and longer stuff.
You could be saving a genre PMC |

@ korruptor - that's nice of you to say so mate.
There's lots of guys all helping out and doing their thing though so it's not just me - we're all saving the megademo together! \o/ |

Fair point. Didn't mean to ignore anyone else's contribution.

Update:
I had a PM from Toffee today confirming he's still up for making his demo part too! \o/ This is really good news and means we're currently on schedule to have around six or seven main parts. Last edited by pmc; 15 December 2009 at 10:09. Reason: Removed stuff irrelevant to the megademo... |

Do I need to start 'worrying' about a 2 disk megademo?

I thought megademos are supposed to be 2 disk, hence the term mega :-)
