So weirdly my Floppy drive is working again. Good!
However the HD LED is gone again. Given that it worked briefly would this seem more like an issue with the LED connection to the mother board, the LED Board itself or the CF adapter? As stated before the CF Adapter LED activity light works no problem. I just want to see if I need to buy a new LED or there is some other issue. |

If it's intermittent then you may have issue with IDE connection. This could be the wire or the IDE connector on motherboard. Unfortunately without testing either using an alternative motherboard and/or new IDE cable it will be trial and error.

IDE issue, cable is not even a year old yet. Wouldn't I experience other issues with the hardrive if it were this? Just asking as I have no clue. I was expecting something simple. |

So not content with the issue being IDE related I opened my Amiga this evening to perhaps play around with the plug of the LED and wires whilst the Amiga case was open. I rebooted and what not without a screen attached to just try and get some HD activity. I thought perhaps messing with the wires might shake a loose connection or something. Anyways after a few tries I noticed when holding the LED board that the HD light came on once and that was it. I was then unable to replicate this for sometime. Then after another few attempts I think I was pushing a little pressure on the HD LED and then light lit and replicated HD activity as the CF adapter LED did. Then it stopped when I let the pressure off. This prompted me to just reheat the solder on that particular LED and now it seems to work as intended. I thought it was perhaps something so simple but I couldn't be sure as I had no other LED board to try with it. I may swap this one out now for a nice RED ORANGE and GREEN one. I shall see.
