The Best (and worst) Asteroids Game Ever!

Hey,

Some of you may already know what game is it all about. Some of you might not. Either way, I have some very mixed feelings about it...

What are yours?

Am I really wrong and it's just a gem so overpolished that it cuts upon contact? Or is it better appreciated as a piece of art and not a game?

I liked the asteroids sections a lot, the tunnel sections can go to heck

I do believe that for the later worlds it gets a little sloggy.

You should have looked at Super Stardust though, which is essentially the "complete" version of this game.

Apparently it was also easier. I should check it out as my biggest beef with the game was the difficulty.

I once found an Asteroids game buried on a C64 Disk copy of AAARGH!

to be fair this game should be a lot more fun than it seems to be. It's so polished and seemingly has a lot going for it but then why did I never play it much other than to admire the great graphics

A little on the wrong side of challenge though although that's also likely because the game feels a little fussy when dealing with how the weapons system works. I'd be willing to bet most people remember this game well but didn't get too far into it

Yeah. And I get that it's a game that was based on arcade title, and they were notoriously difficult, but it's just too much. For me at least.

What the heck is wrong with the Amiga sound output in that video, since it skips constantly as if not running at correct speed, yet the pitch seems correct..? Very very distracting.

Well obviously "emulation" alone is not to blame.
