a4000 error 8000004 a3660 + amiga 3.2.1
Just upgraded my a4000 to 3.2.1 kickstart roms. I'm finding when ever I power on from a cold boot with a a3660 installed (68060 with fpu) the system will be stuck in a boot loop with a lite gray screen.
After rebooting with ctrl + amiga + amiga the system then displays a 800 0004 task: 07003308 error message then seems to boot fine. Btw it's always the same task and error code. I have a rev D of the a4000, so If I remove the a3660 and boot from the onboard 030 the system starts up fine. I don't remember having these problems with 3.2 thus Is there an issue with the a3660 and 3.2.1 roms or is these something else I should investigate? |

I just used the ones that came with 3.2 on the mmu disk. I've never really known what version to use with the a3660. However it feels like the error is happen before booting the OS of the HDD. I get the same error just cold booting to 3.2 install floppy.

Does the a3660 have any form of MapROM or ShadowRAM option? If so, have you tried disabling it?
Have had that same error using a Blizzard 603e card when moving to 3.1.4. Also with the latest firmware update to the Blizzard. |

I believe there is a jumper on it for MAPROM. I'll swap it over and give it a try.
I also start having problems with the on board 030. in the end I had to remove the socketed FPU and remove the mmu libs. I might burn a 3.2 rom to try and rule out the newer 3.2.1 roms. |

Super late reply but it looks like the problem was with the zz9000 and firmware 1.9. Using the none auto boot firmware has fixed the problem.

Yep from firmware 1.9 the error was introduced on both A3K & A4K both have A3660 & ZZ9K. Previous firmware you would get a brief yellow screen on startup, I just click through everything seems fine after that.
