Eric W. Schwartz
Need I say any more. No one person sparks more nostalgia from my Amiga days than this man. In my view he was the best thing to happen to the Amiga, yes there was some good coders doing games, Archer McLean to name but one, but Eric is the only one who sparks such fond memories of what he could do with the trusty Miggy.
The first thing I did when I realised WinUAE exsited was go to Warlock's Demo Site and download every demo he had done by this Amiga God. But unlike most nostalgia trips this one didn't turn out bad, I thought his demo's were still great. Anyway anyone struck up this sort of emotion with you guys?? |

Out of reach..
I always thought those animations by Eric Schwartz were out of reach for the 'average' (A500, 2 discdrives, 1Mb memory) Amiga owner. Most of his demos are demanding at least 2 Mb of memory. -My Amiga simply had not this amount of memory. Strangely enough I've never bothered upgrading my Amiga for these demos.
When I attended to several Amiga meetings almost every time a Schwartz demo was shown. I especially liked the 'Lemmings vs. Stealthfighter' demo. The demo who features a frog who wants to have a quiet date with Amy the Squirrel is also one of my favourites. |

Sabrina Online
Are you all still following the adventures of Sabrina Online?
This series is still going (191 strips) and it's still being produced completely on the Amiga. The story and the past archive can be found at sabrina-online.com and if you still have not seen it then you're missing a strong Amiga supporter (Sabrina herself - read it and you'll know what i mean). |

I'm checking the archive, but it seems the piccies are hand-drawn, not Amiga-generated.
Looks good anyway |

What is Eric Schwartz doing nowadays?
I think mr Schwartz is one of the best animators on Amiga. If I am correct he also created the hero and intro of Team 17's Superfrog. At that time I thought he turned into a graphics artist for software companies. -But I haven't heard of him since. Does anyone know what he is doing nowadays?

Sabrina-Online
Ah, mr Schwartz still supports our beloved Amiga. -That is nice to read. I recognise his comic Sabrina-Online from the later issues of Amiga Format magazine. They are drawn in a certain style which appeals me.

I loved his animations
but yes some were incredibly demanding.. from memory I think At The Movies II needed 4meg of fast and an 020+... great stuff I used to love Tobias Richter's raytraced work aswell, but it's slightly off topic |

I like EWS just as much as every other Amiga fan but some of his work is a bit nerdy such as http://www.furafterdark.com/home1.html
But I guess there is a market for sexy cat-pinups to I guess. |

Personally I was a bit disapointed when I've discovered this a few years back, but what the heck, we're all just humans
