New A1200 owner!
Hello all!
So after 30 years; finally getting back into being an Amiga user! We had an Amiga 500 when growing up, and I fondly remember we used to swap disks with a few people to get new games and demo disks (yeah I was young and didn't know better back then). I've recently purchased an Amiga 1200 to get back into things. It looks like it is in original condition but I've already got a pile of little bits and pieces including a capacitor kit (which I'm going to bribe my partner into doing since my soldering skills are... well lets just say I'd rather keep the mainboard with the same number of holes it started with ). So expect bunches of stupid questions I'm sure, but on the same token, it should be a lot of fun to bring an A1200. So hello all! Hopefully, I won't be too much of a pain. :3 |

Welcome. An A1200 is great way to get back into the scene. Definitely getting it recapped is a good move so you can enjoy it for years to come.

Fine machine to have, after years of runing an A500 unable to get expansions from our local Comp Shop, the A1200 was a blessing, till you couldnt get expansions for that either, just new Computers, and of course the endless debate, which was the best Amiga or Atari ST. Just joined myself, just had this overwhelming itchh to play Lemmings again and other things.

Welcome to eab. Greetings from New Zealand and congratulations with the purchase.
Can I ask how much you paid for you A1200? What site did you buy it from? What are the specs of your A1200 (Is it a US/AU/NZ Keyboard??). Did it come with any games?? Enjoy the site. |

I've got my (first) A1200 also only for a year or so and really like it. Welcome to the forum - it's a nice place here.

Welcome to the forums
I use to give a bunch of blank disks to my dad's friend and get back an assortment of games. Sadly didn't know anyone who had an amiga at school so no disk swapping. A1200 is a brilliant machine to get back into Amiga with. I'm going to be recapping mine this weekend as I've put it off for too long. |

Yes; I know it would be stupid overkill putting an 120GB or 240GB in one but hey they are just sitting around doing nothing anyways. :3 |
