Amiga 1500 - What to do with it?
I have a Amiga A1500 delux, which I do not know what to do with? It has twin rom's (1.3/2.4) swicher built in. But it only has 1meg of ram. I brought it alongside my A4000 030, both where being used as Work stations at ITV in Manchester and they both had a very hard life?

Search out kipper2k on here and buy one of his nice upgrades that give you 4/8mb fast mem plus IDE so you can stick in a hard drive and probably a CD Rom, maybe upgrade one of your roms to 3.1 install workbench 3.1 on your hard drive, build a raspberry pi floppy drive replacement so you can just get amiga disk images of the net and stick them on an SD card, use another raspberry pi as a type of modem and use the A1500 like a modern computer.
Thats what I'd do lol but in all seriousness, what do you want to do with it or why did you get it in the first place? The Raspberry Pi drive thing I spoke of is good as far as storing millions of games on a SD card rather than antique floppy disks, so you could spend hours playing old school games. Meh, why waste an A2000 with a cpu socket expansion.
Time to buy a nice 030 card for the cpu slot and an A2091 or GVP HD8+ DMA SCSI card if the cpu slot turbo doesn't come with SCSI. |

Happy new year to you too sir!
I'm curious, how do you normally interface with computers? What kind of applications would you like run on your Amigas? |

With a one-off keyboard and rollerball. I like to do (if I can?) 3D work, Dpaint 5, and good old Amiga games with one button joystick. Also I like to surf the Amiga-net? mainly have FUN. But it's know fun being disabled the way that I am.

Suggestions
A Gotek modified drive also allows inexpensive access to adf files via a USB stick, but to make it WHDLoad compatible with a harddrive set of old games would be nice; this benefits from (at the least an IDE device and CF card) a hard drive, more RAM (at least a few megabytes) and some CPU help (at least a 68010), or a full blown accelerator.
