Replacement boards
I've seen a couple replacement board projects come around, wondered if there is one for the A2000?
Or maybe in general could we make a sticky that kept up to date on all the replacement part projects? |

No a2k replacement board so far. It's a two layer board though, and the biggest problems are leaky batteries. This is totally repairable, albeit a bit labour intensive.

Not always. I have seen some boards (usually Neo Geo) which are so badly affected by the leakage that they're unfit for repair.

I'm wondering about mine. I've found and repaired two broken traces so far. But I'm thinking longer term as well.

There are a couple of A2000 PCB projects on the A1K forum but nothing released yet as far as I know.

I started drawing the schematic in KiCad but I'm not sure about making a board that big, most vendors don't seem to support such a large size. I'm thinking of splitting the slots off onto a separate daughterboard, it would just plug in horizontal instead of vertical.

The Rev 4.4 A200 Board was the worst where a ground plane trace which covered 80% of the board could lift and required that a new trace be created.
