SX32 RGB output quality
Hi, just a quick question regarding the SX32. I'm really enjoying my SX32 but there's one tiny niggle, the quality of the RGB output doesn't seem that good. By "That good" I mean on my Megadrive and my Saturn the picture is absolutely perfect. From the SX32 either by RGBC or RGBHV the picture is very good, but there is some minor picture noise (not really that noticeable but definitely there).
Is this normal with the SX32? Perhaps performing a RGB mod directly from the motherboard (like this http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic...an-amiga-cd32/) results in a better picture? |

Hi,
It's been a while since I last used my CD32/SX32 but I do remember I had to boost the video levels on the monitor as the levels were weak. Don't recall seeing any significant noise though. Ian |

Well I'd hardly call it significant, but I'm the picky sort
I'll have to ask Console Passion Andy if he'll do the RGB mod given in the link above when he starts modding again, I was banned from using a soldering iron last time I tried |

Bumping a really old thread but I have recently got a capture card, and that shows up the noise on the SX32 video output pretty well, I made a short capture of Superfrog and you can definitely see video noise in the background, is this normal for the SX32?

It seems my SX32's RGB output doesn't even work, and neither does the IDE anymore. I guess I need to get it repaired but can't afford it.
Sorry I couldn't test it out and help. |

No problem, I assume the output's just a little noisy. I might try the RGB mod at some point as there's probably less noise for the signal to pick up if you tap directly from the chip.
