80 columns mode

Hi guys


I know for sure that is possible to set 80 columns mode with the "system-configuration" file inside ADF disk image


I found it actually, but it sets other things like the background color and the icon


What i need instead is a "system-configuration" file which sets ONLY 80 columns mode, leaving intact ALL other system values


Can someone put such file in the zone for me ..... thanks !

hi there!

I'm also looking for this setting (in OS 2.x). do you remember where in "system-configuration" the relevant setting was? thnx!

I simply taken a system-configuration which put 80 columns mode for my personal use, but no idea where the setting exactly is put

I looked at the file with hex editor ..... no useful things there

There is a more readable description of the file format: http://amigadev.elowar.com/read/ADCD.../node00D5.html

And you can simply use the 1.3 Preferences program to edit it.

there was a hint posted at the A1K forum: PPrefs by Jonathan Potter is a utility to adjust the 60/80 columns plus all other parameters -> http://aminet.net/package/misc/fish/fish-0242
