Garbled graphics in super hires mode

Hi there,

I am having some strange issues that occur only in super hires mode. It starts out looking fine, then it slowly start showing some small artifacts and flickers and then it goes into more of a garbled flickering where a red box will flash around the mousepointer and the image will shift and distort. All just for a split second, and eventually, after a couple of minutes, the system freezes.

I have a 1200 1d4 motherboard, a blizzard 1260 with scsi and 256 mb ram, a Zorro IV busboard and an xsurf 100. I've tried disabling blaze WCP and fblit but that did nothing. I'm running OS 3.9.

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what may be causing this? I just had the motherboard repaired and it has been recapped. I have 2b motherboard (not in a tower) with a 1221ec and using onboard IDE. It is running in super highres interlaced just fine, so I borrowed the ACA1221ec and the IDE2CF HDD and all the flickering and garbage still appears after a while.

I've been trying to get a picture of it for a while now but I only ever capture a prestine photo with no garbles graphics for some reason. :P I'm hoping other users have experienced the same or similar issues and can point me in a direction. It happends on the 1d4 motherboard both with the 1260/SCSI and the ACA1221ec/IDE

Yes, that sounds plausible as the problem gets worse over time and a reboot only helps a little, not completely or a lot. But should the chips overheat though? They were designed to run those screenmodes, right?

I've seen comments of similar behaviour on hires modes, some chip versions were more prone to it - HP? Can't remember exactly.

This is also interesting. I will try the software-fix, but the hardware fix sounds suboptimal to me.
