"Pixel Games UK" - On Steam

has anyone seen a sudden influx of games appearing on Steam by "Pixel Games UK"? at first glance it looks like a load of retro titles slapped together possibly emulated? are they allowed to do that?

Only noticed as some things i am searching for are made harder by TONS of retro c64/amiga/cpc/etc listed for stupid prices, its basically spam.

Well, they have a website: https://pixelgames.uk/

The domain was registered on 06-Jul-2019. Seems like they started to 'update' some games and then just shoved the games as is on Steam. If they own the rights to the games they can put them on Steam like that.

Wow, Chip's Challenge. 25 bucks to get the exact same game 10 times. A steal! No literally. It's theft.

Bit sketchy too since the original dev has released his own ports of the game(s) on Steam, after reobtaining the rights to it.

lol they used the ms dos version and took the audio (best bit) out of the lost patrol!

dodgy minstrels that bunch, i do not approve of their stuff, even if they have legitimately somehow acquired the rights to a bunch of random classics.

Yep. Seems 'legit', but it's probably the most lazy way to cash out on 'nostalgia'.
