NEC Multisync 3D

Picked up an NEC Multisync 3D for $2 today and hooked it up to my A1200.

I've tried several screenmodes with it. I can get a picture on the monitor, but is it possible to get the picture to fill the whole screen in any screenmode apart from PAL? DblPAL is comes up pretty much square (so black on either side), and Productivity has a huge black border around the whole screen. etc.

Also, what are the two switches to the left of the contrast knob for? One of them has four positions, the other two.

Tried lots of different screenmodes incl. multiscan, dblpal, dblntsc, euro72 and some others too.

best result so far is dblpal with vga only, but it is square (top to bottom, but with black either side of the screen). PAL hi-res fills whole screen but it is just your std 15kHz 640x256...

Have not tried connecting it to a PC yet.

Doesn't anyone know what those switches are for? (my monitor is missing the door for the switches, which I assume has the labels for them printed on the inside of the door)

You need to use monedit or monitor editor or whatever it is called.. Be careful with it, if the monitor starts whining or otherwise acting strange when you test your tweaked modes, turn it off immediately.

You may also be able to find someone else's tweaked NEC 3D monitor files from aminet..

Mind you, that you can't get it 100% optimal, but choose the modes you are really going to use and tweak them until you can switch between all them with the minimum of hassle.
