EPROM Issues - TL866

Hi Folks,

I am using a TL866-3G (T48) and an adapter board to try and make up some kickstart ROMS. However, I am struggling to get the device to read a blank EPROM - and Im pretty certain its not my EPROMS.

I wondered if anyone has used one of these programmers successfully? The TL866II is pretty common but Ive not seen anyone use the 3G before.

Yeah - watched the video’s - I think my problem is the eprom programmer I’m using (it’s a later version) and the use of the adapter board. Hence asking about the 3G version of it tbh.

Just as an FYI - I returned the TL866-3G (T48) to Amazon and picked up a TL866-IIPlus instead. Worked without any issues what-so-ever.

So, until someone figures out how to use the TL866-3G my advice would be to give it a miss.

The TL866-3G (or T48) uses a different adapter to burn 27C800/160/322 EPROMs like this one:

AFAIK with the correct adapter it can burn them in one pass.

It should be natively able to burn 27C400 (DIP40) EPROMs in one pass too.
