CD32 games on WinUAE - how?

Clearly I'm just a stupid moron who can't read the extensive and helpful docs properly, but... how do you actually run CD32 games in WinUAE?

I've tried both actual CDs and ISO files, I've got the AGA030 config file with the KICK31.ROM, but nothing happens and I have no idea how to make it happen. (What I actually get is the grey screen with the "1>" prompt.)

I've got Daemon Tools, but can't find anywhere in WinUAE that tells it where to look. If I check "Add PC drives at startup" it finds a Z: directory on my hard drive, but putting the ISOs in there doesn't help.

You need the CD32 kickrom and the CD32 extended rom to make it work.
Also, the config you got is the standart config for an AGA amiga. Someone already posted a CD32 config, but it should be similiar except the different roms to make it start.

In the MISC-Tab you'll have to enable UAEscsi.device, so the emulator detects your cdrom (or with DaemonTools mounted ISO).

No. This is not needed (and should not be enabled) when emulating CD32. CD32 use cd.device which is CD32 ROM build-in device driver. WinUAE automatically enables internal CD32 CD controller emulation when CD32 extended ROM is detected.

A1200 Kickstart 3.1 ROM and CD32 KS 3.1 ROM are different. Regular 3.1 ROM combined with CD32 extended ROM won't work.

Harddrive-tab must be empty.
WinUAE automatically checks all CD drives (real or virtual) and selects drive that contains either CD32, CDTV or Audio CD.
See winuaelog.txt for more information.

But first you need correct CD32 ROMs.

Anyone want to offer any clues as to where the "real" CD32 Kick.rom can be located?

Send a message via ICQ to Duke
It's included in the Amiga Forever package from Cloanto.

Yeah, thanks. Three Amigas and a real CD32 in my loft and I want to pay again to play all my CD32 games. Never mind, I found them myself.
