Big grin Versions Of SWOS

Can somebody (Anybody) tell me what all the versions of swos EVER for computer formats there are and where I can get them..

I Want everything from beta releases (Just got this from the Zone) to v1.0 to update disks (the actual updated games disks)
to all the PC versions!!!

why you probs are asking..

I wrote an editor a few years ago for the Amiga which supported 4 versions (It was a Savegame editor), and I intend on updating it for as many versions as possible.

Cheers fella's and any ladies

I'm trying to work out this as well. Looking at Galahad's WHDLoad installer is a good start. It supports:

------------------------------------
SWOS v0.9 94-95 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.1 94-95 2 Disk version
SWOS 95-96 2 Disk version
SWOS UPDATE 95-96 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.0 94-95 2 Disk version
SWOS EURO96 95-96 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.52 (v1) 96-97 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.52 (v2) 96-97 2 Disk version* F I N A L
------------------------------------

If you decrunch the RNC file called 'swos2' on the disks, it tells you the version number. I have four original copies of SWOS, three of which are:

New Improved
==========
SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER
Copyright (C) 1994/1995 Sensible Software (23/5/1995)
Copyright (C) 1994/1995 Chris Chapman (23/5/1995)
SWOS VERSION 81
(23/05/95 11.30PM) ASM 23/5/1995
CJ2305112836

95-96
====
SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER
Copyright (C) 1994/1995 Sensible Software (18/4/1996)
Copyright (C) 1994/1995 Chris Chapman (18/4/1996)
SWOS VERSION 144
(18/04/96 21.50) ASM 18/4/1996
CJ1804215359

96-97
====
SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER
Copyright (C) 1994/1995 Sensible Software (6/11/1996)
Copyright (C) 1994/1995 Chris Chapman (6/11/1996)
SWOS VERSION 152
(06/11/96 13.55) ASM 6/11/1996
CJ0611135245

So, the question is - how do these versions match up with Galahad's listing? Perhaps:

SWOS v0.9 94-95 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.0 94-95 2 Disk version <<<(version 81??)>>>
SWOS v1.1 94-95 2 Disk version <<<(version 81??)>>>
SWOS 95-96 2 Disk version <<<(version 144)>>>
SWOS UPDATE 95-96 2 Disk version
SWOS EURO96 95-96 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.52 (v1) 96-97 2 Disk version
SWOS v1.52 (v2) 96-97 2 Disk version <<<(version 152 v2)>>>

My 95-96 above (or version 144) seems to be the first SWOS 95-96 above. My 96-97 (or version 152 v2) is the final version above. The New Improved (or version 81) should be either v1.0 or v1.1...

This is one of those areas where CRC values could come in handy.

Maybe we should contact galahad and find out, maybe he knows..

I have roughly 4-5 versions also. I will get them into ADF format this week sometime and figure out what versions they are.

All versions of SWOS have the CJ ID number except for the PC versions, which don't seem to have an ID but tbh I have not looked properly yet .

It'd be interesting to get all the versions.. Maybe a txt to sensible software might help..

anybody else on here have any definate Ideas?

I have to rush off right now.. trying to configure XP and I have 2 B @ work in an hour..

I thinking he also wants to know about non-amiga SWOS versions..

I believe the PC got the same updates as the Amiga, and I remember seeing a long ago that SWOS 2000 was being develope by Sensible Software... but I never saw it..

Any Major Differences Between Sensible World of Soccer (1994) , Sensible World of Soccer 95-96 and Sensible World of Soccer 96-97? or is it just the updated player names and prices?

All SWOS versions after SWOS 96/97 are only fan updates, made with a editor. There are only minor improvements done for the 95/96 & 96/97 versions in comparison to the SWOS 94 version.

I sent the images of SWOS International World Cup edition to galahad along time back. I dont think the whd slave has been updated to incorporate it though. Now there is a reason the whd hasnt been updated but damned if i can remember what it was . May have been up for a re-write or lost sources for original install, i cant remember. Maybe galahad will pop in and leave some kind words and/or a status update

that version is just the normal Sensible Soccer and it doesnt have a transfer market for players and doesnt have a lot of teams like SWOS , Moreover the gameplay is different a bit, SWOS is Sensible World of Soccer and it was released for the first time on the Amiga in 94.

check this its from viewtronix.uklinux.net :

''v1.2 of Sensible Soccer, this was another update in time for the 1994 World Cup. Again, not many differences to be found, about the only two were the addition of a referee who appeared only when you got a card, and a slight enlargement of the graphics. Also included all teams who played in USA '94, as well as some of the ones that didn't (like England). Again it was published by Renegade''.
